Bevor du startest
Stelle sicher, dass du Claude Code bereits installiert hast. Falls nicht, geh zuerst zur Installations-Anleitung.
Unser Beispiel-Projekt: Rezeptsammlung
Wir erstellen eine kleine Rezeptsammlung. Du kannst natürlich auch ein anderes Thema wählen — Reiseplanung, Buchnotizen, To-Do-Listen, was immer du willst.
Your First Project
Create a folder, start Claude, and work together
What you'll do:
- Create a project folder
- Add some text files
- Start Claude Code
- Initialize your project
- Work with Claude
Duration: about 10-15 minutes
Before you start
Make sure you've already installed Claude Code. If not, go to the Installation Guide first.
Our Example Project: Recipe Collection
We'll create a small recipe collection. You can of course choose a different topic — travel planning, book notes, to-do lists, whatever you like.
Schritt 1: Ordner erstellen
Erstelle einen neuen Ordner auf deinem Computer. Das ist der "Arbeitsplatz" für dein Projekt.
Neuen Ordner anlegen
Geh zu deinem Dokumente-Ordner und erstelle einen neuen Ordner. Nenne ihn zum Beispiel: Meine-Rezepte
Mac: Rechtsklick → Neuer Ordner
Windows: Rechtsklick → Neu → Ordner
Tipp: Ordner-Namen
Verwende keine Leerzeichen im Ordner-Namen. Stattdessen nutze Bindestriche:

So sollte es aussehen:
Step 1: Create a Folder
Create a new folder on your computer. This will be the "workspace" for your project.
Create a new folder
Go to your Documents folder and create a new folder. Call it something like: My-Recipes
Mac: Right-click → New Folder
Windows: Right-click → New → Folder
Tip: Folder names
Don't use spaces in folder names. Use hyphens instead:

Schritt 2: Textdateien erstellen
Jetzt fügen wir ein paar einfache Textdateien in den Ordner ein. Das sind die Dateien, mit denen Claude später arbeiten kann.
Erste Datei: Ein Rezept
Öffne einen Texteditor (Notepad auf Windows, TextEdit auf Mac) und schreibe:
Speichere die Datei als apfelkuchen.txt in deinem Rezepte-Ordner.
Zweite Datei: Noch ein Rezept
Erstelle eine weitere Datei:
Speichere als tomatensuppe.txt
Dein Ordner sieht jetzt so aus:
Nur 2 Dateien?
Ja, für den Anfang reicht das völlig! Du kannst später jederzeit mehr hinzufügen. Claude kann mit beliebig vielen Dateien arbeiten.
Step 2: Create Text Files
Now let's add some simple text files to the folder. These are the files that Claude can work with later.
First file: A recipe
Open a text editor (Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on Mac) and write:
Save the file as apple-pie.txt in your recipes folder.
Second file: Another recipe
Create another file:
Save as tomato-soup.txt
Your folder now looks like this:
Only 2 files?
Yes, that's enough to start! You can always add more later. Claude can work with any number of files.
Schritt 3: Terminal öffnen
Jetzt öffnen wir das Terminal und navigieren zu deinem Ordner.

Nützliche Befehle

Alternativ: Claude sagen, wohin es gehen soll
Du kannst Claude auch einfach sagen: "Geh in den Ordner Meine-Rezepte in meinen Dokumenten" — Claude kann das selbst herausfinden!
Step 3: Open Terminal
Now let's open the terminal and navigate to your folder.

Press Cmd + Space, type Terminal, press Enter.

Type this command and press Enter:

Open PowerShell
Press the Windows key, type PowerShell, click on it.
Navigate to your folder
Type this command and press Enter:
cd = "change directory" (switch folders)

Useful commands
cd foldername — Go into a folder
cd .. — Go up one folder
ls (Mac) or dir (Windows) — Show contents
Alternative: Just tell Claude where to go
You can also simply tell Claude: "Go to the My-Recipes folder in my Documents" — Claude can figure it out!
Schritt 4: Claude starten
Du bist jetzt im richtigen Ordner. Zeit, Claude zu starten!

Claude shows you which folder it's working in. That's now your recipes folder!

Schritt 5: Projekt initialisieren
Jetzt kommt ein wichtiger Schritt: Wir erstellen eine CLAUDE.md Datei. Das ist das "Briefing" für Claude, das wir in Modul 1 kennengelernt haben.
Tippe /init
Schreibe diesen Befehl:
Was passiert jetzt?
Claude schaut sich deinen Ordner an und fragt dich, was für ein Projekt das ist. Das ist ein spezielles Feature: Claude stellt dir Fragen, bevor es etwas tut.
Was ist der Zweck dieses Projekts?
○ Rezeptsammlung für die Familie
○ Kochbuch-Entwurf
○ Persönliche Rezeptnotizen
○ Andere (bitte beschreiben)
Das "Frage-Tool"
Claude kann dir Fragen stellen, um besser zu verstehen, was du brauchst. Das nennt sich AskUserQuestion — und du kannst es auch selbst nutzen!
Wähle eine Antwort aus oder schreibe deine eigene.
Antworte Claude
Wähle eine Option oder tippe deine eigene Antwort. Claude erstellt dann eine passende CLAUDE.md für dich.
Danach sieht dein Ordner so aus:
Step 5: Initialize Project
Now comes an important step: We'll create a CLAUDE.md file. This is the "briefing" for Claude that we learned about in Module 1.
Type /init
Write this command:
What happens now?
Claude looks at your folder and asks you what kind of project this is. This is a special feature: Claude asks questions before doing anything.
What is the purpose of this project?
○ Recipe collection for the family
○ Cookbook draft
○ Personal recipe notes
○ Other (please describe)
The "Question Tool"
Claude can ask you questions to better understand what you need. This is called AskUserQuestion — and you can use it yourself too!
Choose an answer or write your own.
Answer Claude
Select an option or type your own answer. Claude will then create an appropriate CLAUDE.md for you.
After that, your folder looks like this:

Jetzt ist alles bereit! Lass uns Claude eine erste Aufgabe geben.

Erinnerung: Claude liest dein Briefing
Weil du /init ausgeführt hast, kennt Claude jetzt den Kontext. Du musst nicht jedes Mal erklären, worum es geht!

Try one of these questions:

- "Add a difficulty level to each recipe"
Remember: Claude reads your briefing
Because you ran /init, Claude now knows the context. You don't have to explain what this is about every time!
